  Adam Elliot’s one of my animation lecturers this year so I felt the need to watch this gorgeous film. 
  Elliot’s writing is fantastic, based off the letters he and his penpal exchanged. There are so many details, quirks and imperfections embedded into his characters which make them rich and believable. 
  The dark aesthetic accompanies the grim themes so very well. And Max’s bright red Pom-Pom that Mary made him, representing the wonder that is their friendship hurts my heart a little.
