  Summed up an average film for me. Some interesting concepts and scenes but then weighed down by padding and endless conversations that took the film nowhere exciting. I missed this one on the main screen at Frightfest last summer and now I don’t regret that one bit. When it was on form though, its actors helped keep me keen.

  As intense as its gripping score. Superbly acted and full of surprise, despite it feeling slightly ambiguous and unfulfilling. The positives outweigh and confusion though, and it was a gripping viewing that I could have easily watched another half hour of.

  SUMMER OF 84 is the film the 2017 version of IT should have been between the Pennywise sections. The kids are brilliant in this, not over the top or over-dramatized, they feel entirely real and mischievous. They get comedy gold lines and enough solid interactions to make you feel fully invested in their journeys.
