  Funnier and goofier than I expected, but also a bit sloppier than I wanted. I don't mind fairly obvious satire so Ruffalo's character worked for me, but the final third of the movie swerved into something quite different and it just wasn't super interesting to watch. Still, the gags and Robert Pattinson being his most chaotic self made it a very worthwhile watch.

  I get the feeling Marty doesn't know what it feels like to sit in a cinema for 3.5 hours.

  Don't get me wrong, this was an extremely competent and impressive piece of storytelling, but it could've SO EASILY been half an hour, even an hour shorter, which would've undoubtedly brought in a lot more first time viewers as well as make it less daunting to rewatch.
  There are these things called "efficiency" and "conciseness" which, when done right, can be a lot more impressive than a marathon runtime that some think equals a masterpiece.
