Shoplifters 2018
Perhaps my reading of it as "being happy while poor was only a feverish dream grandma had" is too narrow, but the story's linear development of fault and consequence lends itself to it. Carefully performed and shot, the film is rich in warmth and moments of excellence, not without the familiar tropes that ultimately demure its impact.
