The Castle 1997
I really didn't know what to expect with this movie, and suspected I'd find it a bit of a bore... Instead, I found a delightful, quirky David & Goliath story that was charming and heartwarming, with wittily drawn, distinct characters and gentle, funny humor throughout. The little guy vs. big business theme is timeless but especially relevant in modern times. Definitely recommend. It goes in the pool room!

A classic screwball comedy in the finest sense, Lombard steals the show with rapid fire patter dialogue that would make Amy Sherman Palladino jealous. Though the concept of “forgotten men” is antiquated the division between classes is certainly relevant in modern times and Powell’s bum-turned-butler manages to be convincing in both stations in life & brings a lot of heart to the premise (though the resolution of the film is far fetched, it feels good and like the result you want.) Really enjoyed this one and will watch it again.
