    Minority Report, as you would expect, is extremely well-made. The fairly complex story is tight, well-plotted and well paced. The performances are all good. Its vision of the future looks to be about 90% on point (shame we'll never get those animated newspapers though.) Technically it's just about perfect.     Inherent Vice is probably the closest P.T. Anderson has ever come to a genre exercise. There are a lot of hard-boiled detective noir tropes here but there is also an undercurrent of love and romance running through this film. Anderson's characters are usually desperate and struggling with love in one way or another and it could be said that here, Doc (Joaquin Phoenix) is driven and motivated purely by love.
