When I read the synopsis of this last year, I thought, "Goodbye Dragon Inn meets Field of Dreams." I didn't realize how close to the mark it was. A melancholic, leisurely paced farewell to a beloved local ballpark, which could as easily be about a farewell to an era of baseball that's now lost to us. This is a real, physical place that also feels plucked from time, if only for a single day, to give everyone a chance to pay their respects before it's gone forever.

The death of a place is the death of a community.

Never more relieved to see the "No animals were harmed in the making of this film" notice at the end.
