I have multiple issues with the writing and character development in this movie, but here's the main one:
You want the audience to believe that, in that small of a town, the woman who has worked at the prison for years doesn't know the address of the house where a kid sliced up his father like a Christmas ham? That lazy last minute twist ruined the whole thing for me.

Shadow 2018
I think this film might be an instant classic! It's easily one of my favorites of the year. I spent the entire runtime in awe over how beautiful it looks. The fight scenes and set-pieces are incredibly well staged and choreographed. The story is layered, paced nicely, and intriguing the whole way through. There were times when the performances went a little too over the top for my tastes, but that's just a minor complaint. I can't wait to watch this again!

Jojo Rabbit 2019
This is one of those movies where it would have made me feel a whole lot better to know exactly why some people in the theater were laughing.
