I can't rate this movie. The Venom movies have been with me while I was growing up and were a consistent comfort in terms of media, Venom is one of my favorite characters of all time, and the pure emotions this film brought out in me were very strong. It's not a great film, I'd probably say plot wise it's worse than the last two, same with characters, but it doesn't matter, this movie made my cry multiple times and I loved every second of it. I love Venom and Eddie and am definitely going to miss this little franchise that they've created.

A lot better in terms of pacing and quality than the first, and Venom and Eddie's relationship is stronger than the first, unfortunately the writing and cgi aren't as solid here, and the movie makes the disheartening decision to split the pair up for the middle act, and when they're apart, the movie doesn't work as well. Carnage is a mediocre antagonist, he doesn't really act like his comic counterpart, and while Woody Harrelson is doing great, he unfortunately wasn't given much to work with. When the movie works, it works wonders, when it doesn't, its a little worse than the first, so it balances out.

What a conclusion! The plot is actually surprisingly interesting, involving a now exploded Birth Island and the aftermath of the two Godzilla's. Godzilla here is definitely the standout, pulsing red and melting by the second, he's now Burning Godzilla! And his scenes are some of the best in the franchise, even now having adopted a full father figure role for Junior. Meanwhile Junior sports a much better design here as he gets some nice scenes. The humans surprisingly take a…

While it has some interesting concepts and scenes expanding on the world of the first one, even introducing an American organization in it, I never really felt like it fully lived up to the first film in terms of sheer action and spectacle. The characters are a little less engaging and the villain, while interesting on the surface, has a scheme that isn't actually all that complex or interesting. Elton John is in this though, and that makes it worth it.
