Tragically beautiful. Wow. The deeper notions of this film are remarkable beyond words. There is an extreme amount of elegance in this film, something so poetic and gorgeous that I cannot explain. Portrait of a Lady on Fire explores the power of observation and the appreciation for subtleties of expression, deepening one’s admiration for the object of desire.

Witty, entertaining, and visually pleasing. Probably the 3 words that describe any Wes Anderson film ever. Moonrise Kingdom was not only brilliantly crafted but also cleverly written. It told a story of falling in love at 12 years old without making it lame, boring or cheesy. Quite the contrary, it plays on the fact that love at that age is seen as fantasy and is filled with awkwardness and infinity.

The complexities and underlying realism of this film is utterly brilliant. This was way more than just a comedy and it wasn’t until the halfway point where you begin to realize there’s a lot of truth to what’s going on.
