This film hasn’t been made yet, but I finished the book last night so I’m just gonna give 5 starts anyway cause fuck you.
Here are some facts:
-Judge Holden is one of the scariest/greatest villains in literature and I dreamt last night that he was coming to get me
-Cormac Mcarthy was probably a little insane
-The most sympathetic characters in this still mercilessly scalp innocent people because ‘it’s just something to do’
-A necklace made of human ears is due for a comeback
-If Chamalet gets cast as ‘the kid’ I’ll go out and ‘Luigi’ a CEO

Didn’t quite know when to end; perhaps didn’t earn its final minutes when it descended into complete madness, BUT, had me completely and utterly gripped for a good 95% of its run time. Felt like a classic Cronenberg story (using body horror to explore themes of identity and being at war with one’s self) but with as bold and confident a directing style as I have seen.
