Lost in Translation 2003
honestly hated the first half which felt vapid and racist but still enjoyed the themes of loneliness, longing and unlikely pairings meeting under unlikely circumstances. also happen to be flying to Tokyo tomorrow morning so watching this felt strangely sentimental in a projective, romanticised way… probably wouldn’t have liked it half as much if I had seen this any other time than now. It never fails to amaze me how sometimes the right films seem to come to me at just the right time..!
