    Glad to see Dreamworks are continuing that household tradition of making their sequels a million times better than the preceding film. And much like Bad Guys, they are taking full advantage of the medium and I'm all here for it!

    Gone are the days of 3D animation being used just to push graphic realism and computer imagery. Now the studios push for unique styles with a strong identity and bold visuals for peak storytelling. Long may it continue!

    This is an interesting one.

    As an adaptation of Chekhov's unfinished play, Platonov, it perhaps gives the closest insight Western audiences will have to Chekhov's naturalism. It includes all the Chekhov themes you'd anticipate; the effect of time on the characters and their relationships, the ever-growing tension and dismissal of the working class, the change in political attitudes and morality and of course the dullness and frivolousness of Russia's aristocracy.

    A very interesting homage to the 1977 classic, one which is not only vastly creepy but a brilliant exploration of guilt and complicity within the eerie atmosphere of Cold War Berlin.

    Its use of dance and movement is always beautiful to watch, with one of the most terrifying scenes being illustrated by a beautiful dance routine. The cinematography and use of colours are also fantastic, creating a world which is cold and harsh with its Cold War exterior, but becoming…
