I started this with the right attitude, but it was clear early I wasn’t going to enjoy this and that’s fine I’m not the target audience. Yet, there were still some issues I had with it outside of it not being my preferred movie.

To start, I think this is the worst color grade I’ve seen to a major movie like this. It’s baffling to think this was Chu’s vision for the look of the film. I’m curious if they…

My Netflix subscription keeps going up because of the Russo’s. After Netflix bet big and gave them $200 million for The Gray Man that critically bombed, it only made sense to give them $320 million to make this pile of crap. Half a billion dollars for those two films. How can that be profitable for frito lay?

Millie Bobby Brown is in the driver seat for best actress at the razzies this year. Remarkably bad. Millie is only 20 years…

As a viewer, there’s a level of confidence you gain early into the films of the best directors that you’re in good hands until the credits roll. Bong, PTA & Tarantino might be the only three directors in that category right now and is how I felt early into Mickey 17.

Mickey is a dark comedy thrill-ride from start to finish that’s Bong’s funniest film to date. It has a lot it pulls from his other two English language films yet…

Easily some of the best cinematography of 2024 right next to The Brutalist. Gothic horror is far from a genre I seek out and in Nosferatu I had issues with the story holding my full interest but it was still incredibly enjoyable to watch what Eggers was going to do next with the camera.

This is just about the same feeling I had watching Joel Coen’s Macbeth from a few years ago. Beautifully shot just not a story I can subjectively grab hold of enough for my own taste.

Now I just need to find a video of Bill Skarsgard’s makeup routine for Orlok.
