Picture this: It’s a Wednesday in March. You and a few friends gather for a happy hour before heading to the movies. It’s a 70mm IMAX re-release of the 2012 cult-classic “disasterpiece” Spring Breakers. James Franco puts on one of the best ironic comedic performances of all-time. Popcorn is shared, beers are drank, laughs are had. The movie finishes and SELENA GOMEZ & BENNY BLANCO come out to say hello. Selena says how much this movie means to her (lmao) and then they play an unreleased song from their new album. It absolutely slaps.

New York City remains undefeated. Spring break foreverrrrrrrr

Tense, gripping, frustrating. I think this effectively narrativizes the true story in a way that holds attention while also exploring the background of what happened in one of the worst environmental disasters in history. The acting and cinematics are both up to par as well.

    The movie literally…

It’s a good film for like 95% and then there are like two Robin Williams scenes that are so phenomenal it lifts the entire thing to the celebrated plane everyone recognizes it on.

The South Boston feel, the story-telling, the wisecracks, and the tender moments in between all make the movie work.

I sat down with a delicious homemade pot of garlic-broccoli-feta soup on this cold winter night and had myself an evening. How bout THEM apples. 9.0/10
