  Such a classic. A bit dated on the props, stunts and writing.

  An example of this is the ROUS (Rodents of Unusual Size). Much like in the musical Cats it's incredibly obvious that this is just a man in an animal suit.

  This is a movie that definitely has a solid place in history. It has iconic scenes and lines such as:

  Bring me everyone.
  What do you mean "everyone"?
  EVERYONE!

  The cinematography and acting is a stellar example of nineties cinema. I'm intrigued about the larger themes or revenge, childhood and growing up surrounding this movie.

  Much like Cats, Matilda has had a rough life, much like Grisabella wants to move on with life to the Heaviside Lair (Spenser School). This movie could use more music to set tone, but this wasn't too typical in the nineties. Oldman is an excellent villain just like Macavity on catnip.

  The blatant acceptance that this sequel should have never happened and the self referential nature of the movie is entertaining, but only carries it only so far.

  The prison scene is so off colour of the rest of the movie.
