Tone loco! or tone-deaf — half amusing, half amusia. Bonkers Brad Pitt; angry-daft Anthony Michael Hall. Nice to see David Michôd shake up his choice in material. Fun in fits and starts, but slightly wearing after a spell.
One of the best horrors of the year, along with FEBRUARY which I saw last week, comes again from that film's director, Osgood Perkins (Anthony Perkins' son). I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE is fantastic. It's slow, measured, creepy, full of utter dread and, thus, framed in an exquisitely precise way to maximise the highest amount of subtle visual terror. I loved it.

I give it 9 golden fleeces out of 10.
1 for the blinking masthead of Hera. Great eyelashes.
1 for Hercules' hair and beard. Lustrous, wavy, world-beating.
1 for Talos. I couldn't take my eyes off him; he was so bronzy.
1 for the pair of Harpies. Darn winged beasts. Darn hungry winged beasts. Darn hungry winged blue beasts.
