Seeing the negative reviews on here - calling it boring - I think it helps if you have some interest in this subject matter. I played in orchestras as a young person so I could relate to aspects of it, and found it interesting.

Harlem Is Heaven 1932
A one-star film improved slightly by Bill Robinson's screen presence and dance numbers. For those interested, I recommend just watching the dance numbers and skipping the rest.

The Tale of Tsar Saltan 1967
I'll give it points for the WTF singing squirrel marionette.

The Private Eyes 1980
As I was watching this my first thought was that maybe I'm just too old for kind of humor. The story plays out like an old episode of "Scooby Doo" with all the simplicity that entailed, except that show had the benefit of being kind of surreal (and shorter). The more I think about it however, I'm leaning towards the script just not being good. The actors did what they could with the material, but most of the jokes are just painful. That said, I totally get some folks having nostalgia for something like this if they saw it at a young enough age.
