This struck a certain chord for me & I haven’t been so scared by a movie in a while

I’m a sucker for sad music, ok

This is a beautifully sad movie. There were moments (like in most war movies) where I had no idea what the characters were talking about, but i appreciated the lack of chaos that does accompany most other war movies. I feel this movie is further differentiated from other war movies with the “no end in sight” story telling. There is no climatic battle that gives the viewer a sense of relief and closure. Further, the terror and agony that accompanies war on both sides was well depicted. And lastly, I loved the grounding incorporation of nature throughout.

Oh baby this was good. I love how the message was unapologetically heavy handed. Couldn’t get the smile off my face.
