  Didn’t love this film the way I wanted to, but lots to think about— reduction of complex people into single roles: guilty, not guilty, murderer, murdered, witness, defendant. The moments in the trial around autofiction were the most interesting to me. Reading a lot of Vigdis Hjorth at the moment and wondering about the lines between reality and fiction.. aren’t all of our lives fiction, in a way? Who owns your story? Who gets to tell it? 

  P.S. Get me the number of the dog who played Snoop. When is he doing his Actors on Actors interview with the cow from First Cow?

  Quite genuinely a masterpiece. So many moments where I realized I was holding my breath and couldn’t stop. Desire displayed so agonizingly; longing for connection, desperate to see and to be seen, cut me like a knife. Aching aching shadow hand reaching out. Leslie Manville representing fujoshis in the realest way.

Following
