I need to watch the 219 minute version. I think there’s a 4.5-5 star movie in here but the 151 minute cut that’s available on Prime feels… too short. Or rather, like there are crucial things missing.
There’s some grandmaster-level stuff here. But also when someone sets out to make a masterpiece, more often than not, it “insists upon itself” lol but whatever. Every frame is delicious. And when it hits, it’s jaw dropping. Like DAYUM.
Considering the production nightmare Heaven’s Gate is famous for - subsequently tanking UA - at least the result is better than like, the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
