Thought this was a fun if a little disposable hitchcock all things together. It certainly works as a thriller but lacks some of the more interesting thematic elements or formal flourishes of other Hitchcock films. Though I did like the killers technique of just saying exactly what he did but in a stupid voice whilst rolling his eyes so nobody would beilieve it.

As someone who was born after the September 11 attacks it often feels like I was robbed the end of history. The way this film captures the soul crushing totality of living in a simulacrum unable to find any truth appart from self-destrution speaks to a general malaise I've moved through all my life. Idk society may be bad but it means I can watch wierd movies. It feels like the antithesis to love & pop in a way
