I award The Menu high points for Ralph Fiennes' performance and its appealing aesthetics, but it gets demerits for its superficial and simple storyline. I appreciate what it was going for, but I expect satire to be a little more barbed and complex. It unfortunately doesn't transcend much beyond what was shown in the trailer, but it's still an entertaining film with some great performances and a slick visual style. Plus, Judith Light!

I watched this in theatres with my 4-year-old son on Christmas Eve this year. What a great Christmas movie experience. I find this to be a visually stunning film despite the aged animation.
When I first saw this a couple of years ago, I would probably have ranked it a 3.5, but seeing my son enjoy it so much pulls it up to a 4 for me. We got him a replica of the sleigh bell and golden ticket for Christmas this year, and he absolutely believes 😊. I hope he can keep his Christmas spirit forever, and I wish you all a Merry Christmas 🎄
