  It has its moments for sure. A lot of it though just feels like missed opportunities and untapped potential. It also goes on for way too long in a series of plot points that are rushed through in a way that makes it hard to care but it just keeps going.

  Holds up better than some other movies from my childhood I’ve revisited. It’s still fun and imaginative with a lot of heart. I don’t know that I ever need to see it again, but I totally understand why I was obsessed with this when it came out

  Oof. Powerful but frustrating. Lots of intense but mixed feelings. As a documentary, its commitment to remaining as objective and level headed as possible was both admirable and at times maddening. Some homophobic stereotypes and ideas were presented and then never rebutted or even talked about again. (I.e. the idea that AIDS comes from being gay/ it’s the gay disease). I get that changing hearts and minds isn’t really the goal here and maybe my emotions are interfering a bit…

  Wow this was disappointing. 

  The trailer caught my attention a while back as a potentially fun turn your brain off sort of movie. The reviews looked good. I was actually looking forward to seeing it. Problem is, every interesting moment that Novocain does have to offer is shown in the trailer. Every one. On top of that, a plot twist about half way through completely destroyed any emotional investment the movie had otherwise successfully instilled up until that point.
