I originally gave this a 3/10 when I watched it upon release at Rutgers Cinema a little over 3 years ago and you know what?
I change my mind.
This is far from a world beater, but this movie is exceptional at what it’s trying to be, which is essentially just a parody of itself.
These characters (especially the supporting ones) NEVER take this situation seriously at all, and it’s hard not to have fun with just how ridiculous this…

Holy shit, what an absolute mindfuck of a movie. It felt grounding to come back to the real world after leaving this IMAX screening. I can only imagine what it’s like to watch this in 70mm (It almost feels like it could be a little too much based on how insane my experience just was)

If you have a bad time while watching this, you’re the problem. Plain and simple.
Cliche, over-the-top, or just plain brilliant. Call it whatever you want — what Tom Cruise does just works, and it’s the way his movies make you feel that make them so good.
Also, Glenn Powell is a fucking alpha in this movie. His performance deserves more fan praise.
