Chicken Soup for the Cinephile’s Soul

An unforgettable character and performance. Heartwarming, introspective, and occasionally devastating. A reminder of lessons we’ve already learned but often forget. And a beautiful ending. I teared up once or twice.

    ★★½

Pros: good puns and visual gags
Cons: kept making me think of Coco (which had a better, less flimsy story) and Nightmare Before Christmas (which had catchier songs)

    Pros:
    - Ryan Gosling is extremely funny
    - Liked the focus on Barbieland being the reverse of the real world (matriarchy where Kens are oppressed) and the ensuing struggle between Barbies and Kens

    - Mother/daughter storyline was a bit weak
    - I agree…

Instead, it felt more like the plot was just kind of coming at me. It’s not…
