  crazy how this dude spent the whole movie committing a crime, solving his own crime, confessing to the crime just to get hit with a collective “shhh, no you didn’t”

  maybe my eyes are just numb to black-and-white films at this point, or maybe i’ve just overdone it with my old movie marathon, but i swear to god i could not make sense of a single thing

  half-asleep through most of it, i pushed through only to reach the end and realise —i had no idea what i just watched. a lot of artistic chaos. i get why it’s a masterpiece, but for me it felt just exhausting

  maybe one day i’ll come back to it with fresh eyes and finally get the hype

  finally, a hollywood film where russians are actually played by russians and not americans with accents so bad they make my ears bleed 😭 so much russian here, i had a felling english was the foreign language 

  it’s so raw, intimate, and unexpectedly gripping
  the wide lenses pull you right in — like you’re eavesdropping on something too real to be scripted 
  the whole film feels like a documentary someone accidentally turned into an oscar-winning film, love it
