Lacking the humour of the first film and upping the destruction it seems even more like a Gremlins cash in than the original. Apart from a few surreal shots that add an almost cartoony feel to the film it manages to fail as both a horror and a comedy and follows an almost identical formula. The law of diminishing returns continued for another 2 films which were filmed back to back and started a trend for the 'sequel in space' that spread to the Friday 13th and Leprechaun franchises.

New Lines attempt to cash in on Gremlins doesnt try to be any more than an enjoyable, slightly campy B Movie.
