Eraserhead 1977
Watched at midnight with a cup of black coffee, as Lynch intended. My girlfriend’s first David Lynch film, which was also my introduction to Lynch’s filmography.
Noticed and appreciated so much more in this viewing. Namely, how textured the film looks and how incredible the sound design was. So much white noise which adds to the atmosphere. My last viewing I commented on how Eraserhead is Lynch’s commentary on the anxieties of unplanned parenthood. And whilst this absolutely still holds…
