Perhaps my favorite Miramax production, my favorite film released the year that I was born, one of my favorite ‘90s cult classics and hands down one of my favorite films of all-time. Joker: Folie à Deux 2024
Despite being far less derivative and having more of its own bizarre, almost experimental creative spark, this “antisequel” is a commentary on the incel fan culture that built up around the first film. The storyline is exceptionally more tragic. Also, the masses and comic book fans have been spoiled on connected cinematic universe bullshit for the last ten years. That’s why this is being met with such a negative reception.
