  Public Enemies 2009

  The end of legend, the triumph of impersonal systems, and the emotional toll of those caught in the crossfire. An inevitable collision between fading ideals and the cold machinery of progress.

  It is genetically impossible for me to dislike a Michael Mann movie. Loved seeing Stephen Lang (a fellow Swattie!) play a big role in this.

  Mona May’s costume design here is absolutely stunning. Love the damn plaid skirts and blazers. Overall such feel a-good, heartfelt movie that feels pretty modern (?) for a 1995 movie, and a lot smarter than it presents itself to be.
