Amazing display of emotional nuance in acting between charisma, desperation, and moral confusion. Nolan always kills it with the different memoirs threading into each other and crashing together at the finale. The Vast of Night 2019
Apparently this film had a limited release at drive ins, and I very much wish I’d seen it at one of them. Perfect pacing, stunning cinematography, period and technical accuracy out the wahzoo. The actors were phenomenal, the one-take phone operator scene that just kept going was bonkers, and the huge sweeping shots across the town were a perfect juxtaposition to the singularity of both the middle-of-nowhere of it all, as well as the isolation the narrative gave the characters.…
