Amazing display of emotional nuance in acting between charisma, desperation, and moral confusion. Apparently this film had a limited release at drive ins, and I very much wish I’d seen it at one of them. Perfect pacing, stunning cinematography, period and technical accuracy out the wahzoo. The actors were phenomenal, the one-take phone operator scene that just kept going was bonkers, and the huge sweeping shots across the town were a perfect juxtaposition to the singularity of both the middle-of-nowhere of it all, as well as the isolation the narrative gave the characters.…
