What I hoped for was a satire of super heroes, but this trash is filled with slurs and sexual assault.
Frank (Rainn Wilson) makes himself The Crimson Bolt in response to his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) leaving him and returning to a life of addiction. Sarah is little more than an object.
Hearing Elliott Page use “gay” as a slur was eye opening, but that’s nothing compared to the character committing sexual assault. Then again, I already hated that character…

Warning for lots of fire, explosions, death by fire - if these are triggers for you, this is not a movie for you. Or please be aware before watching, because this film has a LOT of fire.
Even though I have significant qualms about the disability representation, this is a huge guilty pleasure. It’s non-stop action with The Rock defying death and Neve Campbell playing a woman who is hella capable in a crisis.
