  Stranger at the Gate is an Oscar-nominated documentary short by Joshua Seftel, available on YouTube.  I’m really perplexed by the reviews for this one.  Most of them boil down to A. “it’s gross that they try to make me empathize with this guy” or B. “Muslims shouldn’t feel responsible for being kind and good to people, even their would-be attackers.”

  To which I respond, A. it’s fine if you personally couldn’t empathize - it just means the piece didn’t work…
