  There’s a scene in Enemy where jake gyllenhaal grabs his own collar in a similar two man same actor arrangement where you can still fully see both characters’ faces and in a lot of ways it felt like the whole movie was building up to that moment, it was baffling at the time. What Mickey 17 pulls off is nothing short of a miracle and pattinson is perfect in both roles.   Cg demon for all but one scene when you literally have the suit on hand is nasty work but not as bad as the man hours wasted in whatever training facility they dragged those mercenaries out of. Best part is the bonkers mullet 37 minutes in but given the six dollar post-demon budget some the practical effects are pretty fun

  The loading screens do a lot to elevate this but even so the damp, quiet atmosphere has a lot to offer and this being a one man project is really impressive. It’s a mark of a great director that I immediately want to check out the rest of their work
