Silence 2016
Amazing work of Art. This is Martin Scorsese at it's best. Reminiscent of Mizogucgi and Ozu, Scorses's use of composition and sound is incredible. The movie is precise and perfectly controled, making each shot noteworthy. Cinematography at its best shot partly on film. A must see film in 2017.

A Most Violent Year 2014
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A Most Violent Year is one of those rare well-done gangster movies that came out in the past couple of years. Chandor does not fall into the trap of free and unjustified violence even if the title would appear to suggest that. The movie implies violence, but does not show much leaving the spectators to make their own interpretation of it.
One of my favorite features of this film is the similarity to the Film Noir genre. A pessimistic view…
