  Enjoyable, messy, funny, misses the mark, interesting, dumb, recommended.

  An earthquake hit during the loudest scene of the movie. It was IMAX not Dolby so I knew it was a quake and not just sound effects. Sure enough, a 4.3. The movie is a 3.5 though.

  I'm not allowed to give this zero stars so I'll give it a half star. I hated this oppressive movie so much. It lacks a complete understanding of what makes David Bowie iconic and instead bombards us with a cacophonous sound mix that never really lets us appreciate the man, mixed with visuals from a variety of sources that don't mean a damned thing.

  How you can make such unwatchable shit from such an incredible subject, I don't know.

  Someone needs to tell Brett Morgen that he's not David Bowie.

  S.S. Rajamouli was at my screening tonight at the IMAX in San Francisco. When this was revealed to us, I exclaimed with at least two swears, maybe three. This movie continues to make everything else look like total shit.
