This is my first rewatch, and the twist is really obvious. Except this isn't a movie where you're ever trying to guess a twist.
Every scene is so dynamic, that you're just focused on that scene without ever trying to think ahead and "solve" the movie.
This is stupid and silly even by the standards of children’s puppet theater.
That’s meant as a compliment.
Occasional scenes work, but in total this is a deeply annoying movie that's WAY too long.
Maybe if Chris O'Donnell were replaced by an actor that could hold the screen, Pacino's performance might not be so overpowering. But that's not what happened, and holy hell does Pacino overdo it here.
Thomas Newman scores epitomize 90s prestige. I'm convinced that they were the primary reason that 90s audiences found pablum like this profound.
