Just a very sharp movie all around—plotting, dialogue, characterization, humor. The opening credits alone are a storytelling marvel, tracing the characters’ evolving relationships through accelerating technology and morphing UIs. And although the writing is clever, it never makes the characters wise beyond their (impulsive, emotional, lonely) teenage years.
One of my favorite parts is when Kyle makes a stomach-churning discovery about the man whose email he’s infiltrated and whose money he’s helped himself to—of course you can’t learn everything there…
