Movies are really running out of good jobs for ex-soldiers.
Nothing inherently wrong with this film, it’s just a lazy rehash of Die Hard that feels written by AI.
An enjoyable by-the-numbers true rescue thriller with some amazing set pieces and cheesy song choices.
It’s almost disappointing that this was a Lifetime movie, because Billy Zane is great and deserves more recognition than he will probably get for it (unless the Emmy’s are watching). It’s a powerhouse performance in an undercooked film that rushes to the point too quickly. The problem with a short run time is it makes these real-life characters look like they were already up for drinking the kool aid from day one, so it made it harder to sympathize for them (at least early on).
Watch for Zane and Rogers’ performances.
Probably a tad bias.
