Watched this on Mardi Gras as the ‘gay’ thing I did this weekend. I guess I also did spin that morning but it wasn’t that gay of a class. Anyways, spin and n edible and 2 + hours of Daniel Craig giving the best alcoholic pout I have seen unfortunately had nothing else to keep me from interested. It had me closing my eyes at points to hit that natural fast forward button.
It was pretty and cute n sad.…

‘’I know a place’’
This scene in particular is exceptional in so many ways, the music, the blue ocean n sky. The soundtrack. But most of all in showcasing the incredible romantic resilience on the part of Sonny and Isabella. I had to pause the movie and calculate the time it would take for a 2006 MTI40 speedboat at top speed (160mph) to get to Havana.
It would have taken them around 2-3 hours one way. And! They would be going against the direction of the Gulf Stream!
Incredible movie!
Admirable attempt to adapt the book. Arguably unadaptable.
