  There's something to be said in how George Miller approaches storytelling. There are characters in this movie that should be caricatures, and yet they aren't, they feel loved in and real.

  Visually it's amazing. Yeah, there's a lot of CGI, but there was a fair amount in Fury Road and it's hard to blame him for not wanting to have a similar, miserable experience like the crew did with that movie.

  Finally watched this and it was a lot of fun. Seeing early Miyazaki working with someone else's stuff was interesting.

  As someone who's authored a bunch of science fiction books and spent time inside of the SF space, it's impossible to ignore Dune.

  Dune is one of the few SF novels that everyone has read. Due to Herbert's lack of mastery when it came to storytelling and raw prose, on top of his own ideological leanings, the books occupy an odd space where everyone gets to claim it as their own.

  Is it a white savior story? Or a criticism…

  The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling 2018

  Really something special.

  The second part dragged in some areas, but overall this was a real gutpunch of a docuseries.

  Seeing how Garry felt about his success and his integrity as an artist and mentor was something I needed in my life right now.
