I really enjoyed this, even if it was almost shockingly linear and conventionally told. It’s a simple tale of paranoia and toxic masculinity with equal parts humor and melodrama, but I found it to be slightly more sympathetic to our antagonist than I was expecting. He’s quickly established as a band person early on, and at no point is he shown in a positive light, but his paranoia is so intense and his reactions so severe that you can’t help but feel his paranoia. There is no joy or feeling of justice in his fate.

I had many things about this I could and should complain about but Robert Pattinson (& cast, really) was so ridiculously fun and endearing that at no point did I really care much about the rest. Felt far more like Bong Jo-Hoo having fun and enjoying the ride than trying to craft something of nuance and intrigue. Brilliant usage of veneers, one star for that alone.
