That was electric, I don’t care what anyone says. Nicholas Cage is gen x’s Timothée Chalamet.
Had no idea what I was getting into with this but was glued to the tv. The moral code aspect of this was thought provoking. I admired ghost dog’s commitment to his code and living his life consistently and on his own path. However, when the rival tribe followed their own code, it led to innocent deaths, trauma, and the cycle of violence to continue. My desire is to condemn them, but it doesn’t feel black and white. Forest Whitaker was phenomenal with the calm and thoughtful persona of his character, and the final scene was both heart breaking and satisfying.
Heart breaking and triumphant at times. This film tackles the subject in a beautiful and grounded way. Great pick, Sawyer!
