Campy, meta and terrifying.
“I saw the tv glow” captures the dread of untapped potential and unfulfilled realities. Justice and Bridgette deliver chilling performances, invoking the horrors of mundane life through the lens of queer people’s cognitive dissonance in the face of cis/heteronormative life.
This movie moves you with its rawness despite its comical nature. The tone of this film is consistent from beginning to end, achieved, in part, by the cohesive colour palette and gorgeous score that seemingly never stops throughout the movie.
It has a fitting and unique ending. I loved this movie and will rewatch it many times to cry, laugh and find joy.
