The Big Lebowski 1998
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The antithesis of “hustle culture” in the best way possible. I feel there’s so many levels to this. Jokes are nuanced and as meaningful as meaningless..
Sometimes we all get too caught up in wanting to do everything we end up with nothing. The dude reminds us that there is nobility in doing nothing.
Being a good person doesn’t necessarily constitute changing the world. Life’s full of strikes and gutters. Ups and downs. Sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you. So, enjoy the little things. Take it easy. Stop worrying so much, it’s so arbitrary.Translated from by -
Night on Earth 1991
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I enjoy movies that find ways to string us through different stories. I read somewhere that the thing in common with all the stories is a missed opportunity. An unfulfilled connection.
Missed job, friendship, potential lover, saving a life, finding support in each other.
All of these things unfulfilled and disappear as soon as the camera pulls away and back to the wall of clocks.
There is bittersweetness in these stories, at least some of them.
It’s those situations where only after the fact, lying in bed it hits us what was really going on.

Casino 1995
Another gangster epic by Scorsese that will hit all the spots for fans of his work.
Same themes that we have seen before. Same fucked up marital relationships (show me one of these where Deniro gets a normal marriage).
Same message that crime doesn’t pay.Racial slurs, gay slurs and fucks galore. It’s all here.
People that don’t enjoy Scorsese’s drawn out gangster stories that may not have the most exciting plots, will definitely not enjoy this very much.
That…
