Understandably too lengthy for theatric preference but I will say by the final credits somehow the whole picture really worked for me. Subtle in many thematic regards while a bit overindulgent in scene duration, I found the depiction of structural violence and trauma compelling. And at the end of the day I really just want to party with that guy in Carrara.
Would’ve hit a lot harder if it was two 18yr-old Elders playing ping-pong in the church with Tostitos pizza rolls blazing in the microwave while the Sisters are trapped in the basement instead of that random 42 year old guy, but hey
Also Paxton not insisting on an awkward opening prayer was the beginning of the end for me
