Surprisingly sensual. Romantic, in many senses of the word.
I appreciate its exploration of a particular Canadian tension between intellectualism and embodied curiosity/knowledge. Tied together with the characters' religious roots, and formally teased out with a playful modern day parallel, I'm glad this film lets itself be as rich and complex as its source material.
