  I do love me a low key, indie, character centric comedy, particularly with a dark heart at it's centre. I would say that Eisenberg pulling off writing, directing and starring, is not only impressive, but it also makes me look forward to his future in cinema. Culkin's award winning performance was a tough sell, it had a lot to live up to with the hype, plus he's supposed to be deliberately annoying in large chunks, I think he pulled it off and it did raise some smiles, if no big laughs.

  Well those were some unexpected and pretty knarley practical effects, like a knock off Aliens crossed with some attempt at Cronenberg body horror. It probably goes to show how good the rest of the movie was, that these effects had such an impact on me.

  I think Leone would have been proud (maybe he saw it who knows) shame he didn't get Ennio for the music though.

Following
