What I love about this film are the visuals, not only with the elaborately created set (which is wonderful) but also the transitions. It creates a strange atmosphere that feels very dreamlike. I think the fact that there is no auditory dialogue adds to this effect immensely.
Something else that creates that dreamlike feeling is the proportions of objects and sets in the background of the scenes. There was one scene with the fair in the back and it appeared…
